Terrible photo as it was done before the days of digital cameras, or at least me with a digital camera. But it's a plaque we made with the 4 different () covers from the 4 different parts of the world, in the middle is one of the two () interactive promotional CD's, and it's autographed by the band.
We made this for a customer of ours, the very customer that introduced me to Sigur Ros. He is an avid music fan and had a really really shitty year, so we surprised him with it for Christmas.
The adventure of making this was really cool. I had to drive 8 hours from my hometown to Colorado to see the gig, my first Sigur Ros gig actually. I had arranged with the record label to get an all access pass so I could meet the band and get the autographs, but due to a plethora of troubles ended up getting there right in time for the concert.
After the concert I ran backstage to get it done but by the time I made it the band had already packed it up and were on the bus heading out. I desperately told my story to as many staff members as I could, and they lead me to this amazing woman who slapped the side of the tour bus, got on the tour bus and got the signatures for me. The poor person exited the bus to a massive crowd of folks who also wanted in, and like Moses, she parted the sea of fans claiming it was for a special cause, walked over to me and gave me the autographed disc. I've always hoped that in my many trips to Iceland I would run into her again, but to this day it hasn't happened.
Then, the people I was staying with had a falling out and I ended up sleeping in a Sam's Club parking lot over night before driving the 8 hours back home the next morning, listening to Sigur Ros of course for most the way home.
So while true, I don't actually posses it any longer, the 4 CD's I have with no covers are pretty awesome to me.
