••so for the nyc gig in '03, my flight delayed for 4 hours, and when I arrived at radio city, it was the tail end of popp, and I only heard "avalon", which they used to play over the speaker system while bowing goodnight.....so technically, I saw and heard them.....for a few minutes.
this is hard, but is between these 3:
red rocks (visuals were displayed on the mountain, not a screen....on the mountain!!!!)
the great saltair (the history in this place, and the fact that it's in the middle of absolutely nowhere, was great. also, the sound was surprisingly incredible. place was a warehouse.)
biscayne amphitheater (the ocean was their background)
easily the hard rock in vegas. worst doormen in history. fuckers wouldn't keep the doors to the casino shut, so every few minutes the sound of slot machines filled the room for a few seconds.
