What gigs do you have coming up (that isn't Sigur Ros as there's obviously threads for those) I'm going to see Interpol next month for the turn on the bright lights anniversary tour in Luxembourg, and in September Sisters of Mercy supported by Therapy? (the latter husband's choice).
My first Mogwai concert, a few fews before my first SR concert!
I will be seeing SR in Amsterdam and Groningen, then The National and Godspeed You! Black Emperor in Amsterdam again. All in the span of one month.
The last 'real' gig I went to was Muse in 2010, so it was a bit overdue...
Got three SR dates in September then Mogwai in December before heading off to Reykjavik for three of the four nights.
Credit card companies love me!!
Went to see Ride last week; best I've seen them, phenomenal stuff, new songs fitted into the set perfectly. Listened to little else since.
Slowdive in October.
Lift to Experience in August. Maybe Arab Strap too if tickets remain. And hoping it really happens and doesn't get cancelled, Chris Forsyth, in Stirling of all places...
Just booked a ticket to see GYBE at the Troxy in London. Anyone been before, what's it like as a venue?
We have Lorde & Public Service Broadcasting in between SR in the UK and SR in Reykjavik
Now looking forward to DJ Shadow in a few weeks
Slowdive last night. Proper acers.
Where was that? I know one of my old friends whose also friends with them went recently (or soon). He said he was going to get down the front and stand in front of Christian to make him feel popular
With the amount of love that was coming from the room, sure that won't be necessary!
Mogwai next week, right after SR this friday and at the end of october Pat Metheny.
GY!BE on Halloween, Mogwai on Dec 15th then Reykjavík.
Followed by several years of scrimping and saving to get by,
Just saw Frightened Rabbit last weekend, Kaleo is playing here in a week or so, then Iceland for Airwaves and then St. Vincent to end out the year.
Ditto.. credit card is feeling rather warm at the moment
Iceland Airwaves in 3 weeks, PWEI mid November, Mark Lanegan in December followed by SR in Reykjavik. I also have vague recollection of the Wonderstuff and neds? in 2018 Is it ok to ask Santa for ISK in my stocking do you reckon?
I'm just glad I went Expedia for flights and accommodation. About half the price of the packages available.
October: the Rolling Stones, Low RoarNovember: GY!BE, Amiina (!!! Live + Fantômas screening, I love it!) and Árstíðir (first time in Paris I think)
That's all but this year I could see almost all my favorites artists in concert, and I needed it...
Sat in the Craft beer co bar in Limehouse wondering how to kill time before GY!BE at the Troxy.
That was an astonishing two hours. I urge anyone with the slightest like for their music to make an effort to see them live. You will not regret it, your ears might but you won't.
