Thanks! Things look a little better today, at least in the front country, the miles behind the first range will likely burn for weeks, maybe months. Yes, the fire is enormous - 231,000 acres, I think that converts to 930 square km. The chaparral is bone dry with humidities in the single digits. Everyone is masked, everywhere. If you go outdoors without one, you notice it right away, the air is terrible with smoke, particulate, and flakes of falling ashes. So far, though the fire has not burned into the Santa Barbara community as it did in Ventura. We are very lucky and I hope it stays that way.
