I had just said to someone, how I often wish he would have done more after quitting music in the late 90s, but I realize the music he did create is lasting me a lifetime. Easily some of the most important music I ever came across, still to this day. I still remember buying Laughing Stock in 91, and being so blown away, still coming off of how much Spirit of Eden had moved me.
Life's What You Make It is still one of the most perfect songs I have ever heard.
He was uncompromising, and went about it his own way, up against many who tried to sway him differently, and as a result created some of the most timeless and moving music I have ever heard.
R.I.P. Mark Hollis.
